Medley Challenge Results

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our sixth annual Medley Challenge on 9th November. A large number of volunteers and officials gave up their whole day to ensure the meet ran smoothly, and a particular thank you to Carolyn Loughlin for all her hard work.

Thank you also to the visiting Clubs - we hope you enjoyed the day and we look forward to seeing you back next year!

Qualification Success

Congratulations to 11 Club members who all recently successfully passed their National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches (NRASTC). This qualification is a lifesaving and first aid award which allows our coaches and volunteers to maintain the highest levels of safety when running sessions.

Well done to Ben Hatchett, Tom Wakelam, Sophie Hole, Maggie Ward, Stephen Ward, Natasha Baillie, Abbie Allenson, Paul Mackenney, Katherine Hill, Keith Salmon and Charlotte McGaun.


Congratulations to Emily Power who has recently been selected to join the North East Regional Girls 2001 Water Polo Team.

Water Polo North East Region Trial

The ASA Inter-Regional Championships (2001 and under) take place in Walsall on 6th/7th December 2014.

Trials will be taking place for boys born 2001 and later for the North East Regional Team on 26th October 2014 at Maltby Leisure Centre, Maltby, Rotherham S66 8JE. This is a one off trial and the squad will be selected on the day.

Club Members Nominated for Awards

Congratulations go to all of the members of Durham City Amateur Swimming & Water Polo Club who were nominated in the County Durham Sport and Physical Activity Awards 2014. As well as the Club itself being nominated in the category of Junior Sports Club of the Year, Laura Tustin was nominated for Volunteer of the Year, Katherine Hill for Young Volunteer of the Year and Lyndon Longhorne and Daniel Morley for Young Sporting Achievement of the Year.

Medley Challenge Rearranged

We are pleased to announce that our Medley Challenge which was postponed at short notice on Sunday 19th October 2014 has been rearranged for Sunday 9th November 2014. The gala details, including warm up times and the "age up" date remain the same. Any swimmers who now cannot attend will be able to obtain a refund, and similarly if any swimmers are now available and wish to enter we are able to accept further entries. Any queries about entries should be sent to Dave Walton.
