For Drowing prevention week, all swimmers took part in a T30 challenge to raise awareness.
So our T30 Challenge has come to a close, a massive well done to our 94 athletes that took part to give us a total distance of…..144,347m or the distance of the English channel, 4 TIMES OVER!!!
Our top 3 squads as follows:
Junior Competitive – 24,355m
Age Group Competitive – 20,129m
Junior Potential – 19,985m
The first weekend of the age group heats will be as per the original schedule with the Age group finals on the Saturday and Sunday starting at 5PM NOT 3:30PM
The Second weekend of the Age Group Championships are not affected!
The youths and Seniors will start at 1PM on Saturday and Sunday 20th and 21st May with the warm up at Noon as per the attached revised schedule on the event page.
The remainder of the Seniors competition will be on Monday 29th May.

Training Freeman's Quay
Training this Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th will take place at the normal times at Freeman's Quay , owing to the cancellation of the Chester le Street gala.
Please note that due to the forthcoming Bank Holiday there shall be NO training Monday 1st May 2017.

Over the weekends of the 4th/5th and 25th/26th February, 23 qualifiers from Durham City travelled to the Sunderland Aquatic Centre for the County Championships. After our great success in the Youth & Senior section in 2016 (6th overall) we looked at progressing our Age Group points total (98pts in 2016) this time around.
In total our swimmers came away with 3 Gold, 5 Silver, 3 Bronze, 11 x 4th place finishes, 30 x top 10s, a British leading time and an all-time county leading time!

Due to the John Charles Centre swimming pool being damaged the ASA NER Youths and Seniors event this week end has been cancelled!
The are plans to merge the Youths and Seniors and the Age Group competition together at Sunderland at the end of May.
Full details of the changes will be sent to swimmers affected when the details of the changes are available.
